Keralit has been distributing hoof care products for over 30 years, specifically since 1991. Keralit was founded as a GmbH (LLC) in 1995. The managing director and owner is Dipl.-Ing. Florian Ruff.
Hoof problems with his own horses led Florian Ruff to take a closer look at the subject of horn and hooves. At that time, the prospective graduate engineer was still studying biomedical engineering at the University of Stuttgart. There, the student had the opportunity to examine the "material" horn more closely in chemical laboratories and particularly in the materials testing institute. Florian Ruff: "The testing capabilities of chemical analysis and materials science there are immense and were naturally
used extensively during and alongside my studies."
The team behind Keralit
Florian Ruff, a graduate engineer and managing director of Keralit, has been a passionate horse enthusiast since childhood. He focused intensively on hooves during his studies. Today, he is one of the most sought-after experts for hoof problems and applies his extensive knowledge and experience to develop innovative solutions for horses and their owners. Lea Ruff, the owner's daughter, is also an integral part of the company. As an active rider, she manages order processing, deliveries, and Keralit's online presence. They are supported by a horse-loving team involved in the development, production, and marketing of the products.

When asked about the uniqueness of Keralit products, the owner explains: "First of%20all, very simply: Keralit products actually work. Our belief is that a care product must be better than just good for its intended purpose, otherwise you simply don't need it. That's why we don't launch new products onto the market every year just so we can print the words 'now NEW' on them."
For example, there was practically no advertising for Keralit Undercover, as the product was initially only intended for farriers, hoof trimmers and vets. The
horse owners themselves then discovered Keralit Undercover at the farrier's and reported on their successes and experiences with thrush in forums. It is now sold in large quantities to horse owners via the equestrian trade.
